Next steps — wealth, energy, direction, people, practice
Three days in and already seeing where this needs to go next.
Time as wealth
The measuring wealth piece landed on discretionary time as the real measure. But I don't fully understand it yet. The framing needs more thought before it gets a better description. What exactly is the relationship between time, agency, energy, and other forms of wealth? Joe Hudson frequently poses a question 'would it be ok for you to be poor if you were happy?'. But being poor means LESS discretionary time (and possibly shorter life). But then, the research shows there is the income level which does not increase the life satisfaction.
Energy
Discretionary time is one thing. The other is how much energy you have at your disposal. You can quite a lot of time and no capacity to change anything. Energy seems to be the second resource that needs accounting for.
Direction
Applying your energy matters only if you maintain direction. Short-term depletion is inevitable — you will run low. But your actions must recreate both energy and time in the long run. The key is adaptability without circling back, so some form of intelligence is also needed. There's something about mindset here that I haven't articulated yet. Can people create ant mills?
People
Working out practices on your own is hard.

Sometimes it's easier to learn from people who are already there — six months ahead of you, as they might be close enough to you in mindset.
I barely even started, and people share. That's worth paying attention to.
Actions and best practices
I have skin in the game. I am 44 and somewhat tired of corporate job. This isn't abstract research. The practices I'm looking for are ones I need to apply myself.
